Production: Minimise our Carbon Footprint

In recent years, we have widely scaled down the amount of energy used at our production sites by actioning several strategies:

Industrial heating and cooling systems offering superior energy efficiency at all our French plants (Tarare, Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux and Grillon). For example, the decision to install closed-circuit cooling systems has widely reduced our water use at those plants, i.e. from 1.5 million m³ a year to 0.25 million since 2000!

Less power-intensive production lines incorporating the best technologies to improve energy efficiency. For example, the new "two metre" roll line at our plant in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux has resulted in a 30% reduction in energy use.

Switching over to 100% certified green energy in all our plants from hydroelectric sources.

A growing number of electric vehicles instead of diesel trucks. For instance, all the diesel semi-trailers used to handle goods were replaced with electric tractor units at our plant in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux in 2019, and all handling vehicles at Tarare have been electric since 2022.
